Less than TWO MONTHS!

Holy Crow where has the time gone?!  Dev and I have been very busy with things... I have never sent more emails or made more phone calls in my entire life!  

But I must say I am having a blast planning all of this - perhaps it should be my new job! :)

Hotels

Hotels in Victor, NY are filling up fast.  I know we do not have a ton of out of town guests, but if you were planning to spend the night, you might want to book soon!  

If Victor is full, you can try Henrietta, NY.  They are a rather large town with a number of hotels, and it is only an extra 5 minute drive! 

If you are having any difficulty with a hotel, please email Rita (devinandrita@gmail.com) and I will help in any way I can! 

The DIY Process 

Poor Devin, I finally roped him in for something other than food tasting!  He was amazing, as always, and even did some crafting! Here are some photos of our Easter Sunday!

The Registry

Some people have been asking about the registry.  They are having a hard time trying to finding it on Amazon... so here is the link :: Our Registry!!

You can also search for it on Amazon. Just go to the "wish list" tab and go the link that says "Find a wishlist or registry."  Once you click on it, you select "wedding registry" and type in our name.  It should show up!

We are so thankful that so many people are looking to shower us with such love and we are grateful for the outpouring of support!!!

To Dollar Dance or Not to Dollar Dance?

Devin and I have an important question for you, our guests:: do we do a dollar dance or not?  We cannot decide - so we thought we would leave it up to you!  

After some very in-depth googling, I found some information on the dollar dance.  It apparently originated in Poland in the early 1900s, as a way for the bride to visit her guests and 'earn' a bit of extra money to set up a household, and still today is seen as a way for the bride to visit with her guests.  Sometimes the groom participates as well.  

I had never heard of the dollar dance before my sister's wedding a few years back, and her and her husband seemed to enjoy visiting with all the guests for a few moments.  

So, we are up in the air if we should participate in such a tradition!  We do know that we will not be doing a garter dance or bouquet toss, as they really, really aren't our style.  Please let us know what you think!!

Moving Along

People are voting!  We are still missing a few, and that is quite alright, but there is still time to vote for the beer - so hop on that if you wish!  The feedback has been amazing and we love that everyone is so excited!!

Thankfully for us, things are really starting to move along and Dev and I are busy!!  Thankfully there are two computers to keep us productive!  

This week's input is all about wine!  We will have a finite amount of wine (and beer) so we want to make the most of what we have - and part of that would be having the correct ratios at the start!  So, if you would prefer a red or white, or sweet or dry... please vote!  If you are fancy, you can pair with your meal : chicken for the meat eaters... still unknown for the veggie/vegans of the group!

Looking for Input!!

Hello All!

We will be posting some polls in the next few weeks to try and figure out what you, our amazing guests, would like at our wedding.  We are doing things on a very small budget, and we love the challenge thus far! But with being savvy, we are doing things a bit different than most weddings.  Our first poll is about the bar - easy enough!  We will be having just one type of beer, and we want to make sure we pick one that the majority will enjoy!  So, please look to your left and cast your vote!  Thank you so much for your help!  We cannot wait to see everyone!  :) 

Centerpieces in the Making!

Centerpieces

The long weekend presented the perfect opportunity to start making centerpieces!  Thanks to Katie, who happened to acquire so many of the jars, we were able to get a great jump start!  So mom and I got busy crafting and we made 21 beautiful jars!  Although we still need 10-15 more jars, it is a start!!  And, we made all the tags for the mason jar drinking glasses! So excited to have done some crafting!

Old jars means they have to be cleaned!  Scrubbing them up all pretty, even though they won't be used for food, just candles and flowers!

 Some of our first jars, tiny and simple!

 We used a variety of jars, some fat, some tall, some blue, some clear... but all old.  And I love them!

The main theme was lace and burlap.  Something with an old, but cute feel.

 They all ended up looking different, and I love that!  With some barn wood boxes, I think these will be the perfect centerpieces for the wedding!

The making of the jars :: hot glue burns and many mess-ups,
but by the end of it, we were pros!  The method :: glue
everything on one end, glue to jar, and then slowly roll the
jar, gluing in layers as you go! 

I love this one the most :: it was the last one done, and it
was the one that my good friend Laura found for me
on one of my trips to see her. It was one of our first
engagement gifts and it is the most unique jar we have!

Name Tags for Mason Jar Cups

In case you haven't figured out already, I love mason jars.  I have loved them since I was a little girl and I am so happy to be using them at the wedding!  Along with mason jar centerpieces, we are also going to have mason jar glasses (they will be different (new regular ones) so no one is confused).  But we are going to ask you all to put your own name on them! :) So here is what mom, Kristen and I worked on today!

A simple little punch made the cutest design for our tags.

And then we decided to put some lace on the ends instead of
punching them!  It turned out to be very cute and made it look
a bit more romantic!

We are now past the holidays and are in the thick of wedding planning!  Things are starting to come together and we are getting very excited!  Shower dates have been confirmed : the first is in Rochester on April 12th and the second is in Syracuse on April 27th.  After so much time, it is quite exciting that the date is getting closer!  We cannot wait to see everyone! :)
